A New Dawn in Turkana County: Compassion Kenya National Director Launches Five New Partners

Compassion’s work in Turkana extends to nine churches across Turkana South, West, North, and Central. Through these partnerships, 1,696 Compassion-sponsored participants are experiencing life-changing improvements.

The National Director of Compassion Kenya and church leaders launched five new projects: Elim Pentecostal Church Lokore, Full Gospel Churches of Kenya Kalobeyei, Full Gospel Churches of Kenya Kalokol, AIC Lochoresekon, and African Gospel Church Kalodicha. The launch event highlighted Compassion’s commitment to reaching even more communities.

Through Complementary Interventions, two partner churches — Elim Pentecostal Church Kakuma and ACK St. Paul Kanamkemer— have received four classrooms. Each church now has two new classrooms, fully equipped with 70 desks each. This project, costing KES. 4 million, has drastically improved learning conditions for children; in one of the Church Partners, the classrooms now serve 184 participants and 207 community children.

These new facilities have provided safe and comfortable learning environments and boosted the participants’ morale, igniting a renewed passion for education. In addition, children have been
provided with essential school supplies such as uniforms, shoes, and school bags, ensuring they have the tools to succeed. Launching these programs is a testament to the power of partnership between Compassion and local churches. Together, they are creating a new chapter in Turkana’s story, one of hope, opportunity, and transformation.
