As part of our continued efforts to ensure that our program participants are equipped with knowledge and skills within their context, they participated in the International Internet Safety Week activities organized from the 7th to the 11th of February, 2023. The activities were organized by Tech Kidz Africa, a technology academy dedicated to equipping children, teenagers, and youths with the necessary technical skills required in the 21st century.

We had 10 child development centres participating in mobilizing participants during internet safety week. The awareness raised impacted the community positively during the internet safety walk, a part of our Compassion Innovation Stars program. We’re glad this was a possible venture.

As Compassion International Kenya, we believe that online safety and cyber security training is essential in promoting safe and responsible use of the internet. With the growing reliance on technology and the internet in our daily lives, we must educate program participants on best practices to protect themselves online.

This year we mark the Day of the African Child by honoring “The Rights of The Child in The Digital Environment”. Our Program participants learnt about the potential risks of the internet, including cyber bullying, identity theft, online scams, and phishing. Also, they were equipped with knowledge of best practices for protecting their personal information online. We are confident that this training will go a long way in promoting responsible internet use and protecting program participants from online threats.
