We celebrated the remarkable achievement of 35 youth supported by Compassion who graduated from the Kenya Water Institute (KEWI) after completing a one-year course in plumbing and pipe fitting.
This milestone highlights the transformative impact of education and skills development, equipping these young individuals with practical expertise to secure sustainable livelihoods. Among the graduates is Titus Musyoki, whose inspiring journey reflects resilience and determination. Titus, a Compassion Sponsored Participant from the AIC Kanzinwa, a Compassion Frontline Church Partner in Kitui County, Kenya, transitioned from humble beginnings to becoming a certified plumber. Supported by a Compassion Grant scholarship, he pursued his studies at KEWI, where he gained expertise in pipe installation, water system design, and sustainable plumbing solutions. His dedication and hard work paid off as he graduated with distinction. Titus’s journey is a testament to how education and vocational training can break the cycle of poverty.

With his newly acquired skills and a fully equipped plumbing toolkit provided by Compassion, Titus has already started working as a freelance plumber, offering services such as leak repairs, water tank installations, and sanitation system maintenance. Beyond personal success, these graduates serve as agents of change, prepared to address critical water challenges in their communities. By promoting safe access to water, sanitation, and innovative water-saving technologies, they are enhancing public health and creating economic opportunities in underserved areas.

Also, the Youth Mission Conference, held in Makueni County, Kenya brought together 1,000 high school students from across the region with the mission of evangelizing, sharing God’s love, and equipping young believers for ministry in their local churches and social spaces. This event was a transformative experience, providing young  people with spiritual nourishment and practical guidance for their faith journeys. Specialized speakers in youth ministry led insightful sessions, addressing pressing issues that affect young people today. Through workshops and plenary discussions, participants gained valuable knowledge on navigating their faith, overcoming societal pressures, and becoming active disciples in their communities. These sessions not only strengthened their spiritual walks but also prepared them to be leaders in their churches and peer groups.

One of the most powerful moments of the conference was the staging of the live reality drama, “Heaven’s Gate and Hell’s Flames” (HGHF). This gripping performance, in collaboration with Reality Outreach International, vividly illustrated the eternal consequences of life’s choices. Consequently, 817 youths made a profound commitment to Christ, dedicating their lives to Him. The drama served as a testament to the power of visual storytelling in ministry, leaving a lasting impact on all who witnessed it.

Matthew 28:19-20

“They are prepared to spread the gospel, support one another, and serve as beacons of hope in their communities.”

For the past five years, AIC Kithyoko in Machakos County, Kenya, has been dedicated to mentoring young people in collaboration with various partners. Every year, the church sets aside a special day to celebrate and mentor youth and their caregivers, reinforcing the values of faith, responsibility, and service. This initiative has become a beacon of hope, shaping young lives and fostering strong Christian foundations within the community. Through this mentorship program, AIC Kithyoko has nurtured both boys and girls under the themes “Worthy Warriors” and “Super Jewels,” respectively. This five-year journey has been filled with testimonies of transformation, spiritual growth, and positive life choices, truly showcasing the power of God’s work in the lives of the youth

The mentorship efforts have yielded incredible results over the years, including a notable reduction in teenage pregnancies, significant improvements in school performance, and participants securing placements in universities. Additionally, there has been a decline in drug and substance abuse among both caregivers and youth. One of the most significant achievements has been maintaining zero cases of school dropouts, ensuring that every mentored child continues on the path of education and spiritual growth. As AIC Kithyoko looks to the future, its commitment to mentorship remains stronger than ever. By sharing this journey, the church hopes to inspire neighboring communities to embrace mentorship as a powerful tool for shaping the next generation.
